Recognising the achievements of two exceptional start-ups with incredible women at their head.

Warlows Legal would like to congratulate Naomi Whitfield of iKOU and Kath Purkis of Her Fashion Box for making the finals for the Telstra Business Women’s Awards 2015.

In October Naomi Whitfeld was announced in the Top 4 Finalists in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards for “Entrepreneur of the Year NSW 2015” and Kath Purkis a finalist for the  “Young Business Women’s Award 2015”.

The Telstra Business Women’s Awards celebrates brilliant business women, who are a source of inspiration to the nation. Both women have received recognition for their leadership and business skills in running thriving start-up companies iKOU and Her Fashion Box.

Telstra Chief Operations Officer and Telstra Business Women’s Awards Ambassador, Kate McKenzie, said New South Wales business women were excelling in a broad range of sectors.

iKOU

Naomi Whitfeld is a New South Wales Entrepreneur who founded iKOU with her husband 8 years ago, making natural Australian skin care and body products, candles and organic herbal teas from their kitchen in the Blue Mountains. She has created a brand that inspires health and happiness.

Naomi is the driving force and public face of iKOU, a Japanese word meaning ‘to rest, to relax, to restore’.

iKOU has three stores, two located in Leura and one in the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney, and iKOU products are available in world-leading hotels and spas in Australia and across Asia.

Naomi has a knack for blending scents and products that make people feel different, transporting them to feel the way they want, creating a most successful and well reputed international business brand, Saying “To know that our products encourage health and happiness and make a difference in the lives of others is the most rewarding part of all.”

Her Fashion Box

Kath Purkis, a young and budding entrepreneur and now well recognized CEO has utilized her information technology skills to launch an exciting a start-up online fashion subscription business that exports to New Zealand, Europe and the US, from a Sydney-based warehouse. Launched in 2013 Her Fashion Box has taken the industry by storm.

Her Fashion Box has shipped more than 20,000 boxes since inception. Her Fashion Box was born from a passion to bring women the latest fashion accessories, trends and advice inside a box of hand-picked beauty and lifestyle treats, delivered to their door monthly like a gorgeous gift! An exciting new era in the way women experience fashion, Her Fashion Box is the gift that keeps giving, that little thing women look forward to every month.

Kath says her business delivers women an instant wardrobe update each month, meaning less time wasted searching shops for the right styles. Kath is passionate about mentoring young female entrepreneurs and sharing her journey, and recognises her own mentors that opened doors on both a personal and professional level.
